Back in October 2012, Samsung launched the Galaxy Premier Smartphone on the European market and now the company have decided to launch the very same handset on their home market, but it will under-go a name change and get some changes to its hardware specifications.
The South Korean version of the handset will be known as the Samsung Galaxy Pop (model SHV-E220 aka Superior), it will get a change in processing power, instead of the dual-core processor in the Premier, the Galaxy Pop gets a quad-core processor instead. It also features a similar design to the popular Galaxy S III but its slightly smaller.
Specifications of the Galaxy Pop includes a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display, it is powered by a 1.4GHz Exynos 4412 quad-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and it will run the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system right out the packaging.
The handset was specifically built for the Korean market, so it gets features such as a built-in T-DMB mobile TV tuner which you wouldn’t see in a smartphone in the US market. It also get connectivity options including GPS, Bluetooth, 4G LTE support and WiFi.
The Galaxy Pop will come in two models; an 8GB and 16GB versions. Samsung will be offering the handset through carriers; SKT, KT and LG U+.
